at the giant's causeway
the cliff-top path steals your breath
with vistas and whistling wind.
your skin numbs in the cold exhale--
tinged with the salty-fresh of the sea,
but the heart springs to life,
shocked by that blustery flow
and the thrill of green.
walking that narrow path--
simple sand and rock underfoot
and all around a wonder,
you know why this place has that name:
the causeway.
careful, ye, there be giants here,
and they built a path into the sea.
